Where Can I Pay My Verizon Bill In Person – Payment Options

Where Can I Pay My Verizon Bill In Person

When I was new to Verizon, my biggest concern was where can I pay my Verizon bill in person, as I didn’t know much about online payment options. Luckily, I found multiple options in this regard, and I will share some of these with you now!

Where Can I Go In Person To Pay The Verizon Bill?

Some locations for Verizon bill payment charge a fee for the service, but others do not have additional costs.

For example, you can pay at any Verizon store location, Verizon Fios Local Presence Center, etc., without any extra fees.

If you pay at retail stores like CVS or Walmart, there are fees up to $4 per transaction. Alternatively, you can pay your Verizon bill online through the app or the Verizon website.

1. Verizon Fios Local Presence Center

You can now visit the Verizon Fios Local Presence Center to clear your Verizon bill. Provide the billing statement, account number, or phone number to proceed.

It accepts payments in cash, credit card, and debit card. There is no additional service fee.

2. Verizon Store Locations

The most convenient way to pay your Verizon bill in person is to visit the nearest Verizon retail store. You can use the Verizon store locator tool to find the one in your area.

Once you get there, tell the person at the help desk that you wish to pay the bill. You will be asked to share the number, phone number and billing statement to verify your account.

After that, you can pay the Verizon bill via cash, debit card, credit card, or check. There is no additional fee to pay the Verizon bill in-store.

3. CheckFreePay Locations

CheckFreePay locations are another option you can try out when you are wondering where I can pay my Verizon bill in person.

  • Open the online store locator on your laptop or smartphone.
  • Identify the closest CheckFreePay location.
  • Visit the spot and provide the representative with the billing statement, account number, or phone number.
  • Pay with cash, debit card, or credit card to clear the bill.

4. Western Union Locations

Any location that offers Western Union service can be used to pay off the Verizon bill. If unsure of these, use the Find a Payment Location tool to find the relevant stores. Some stores included on the list are mentioned below.

  • Best Buy
  • Walmart
  • Kroger
  • CVS
  • Ace Cash Express
  • Meijer
  • Target
  • Dollar General
  • Publix
  • US Bank
  • Safeway
  • Sam’s Club
  • CheckSmart
  • Other check cashing stores

Other than these retail stores, banks and credit unions also have Western Union services. You can use these to pay off the bill quickly as long as you don’t have an issue with a $4 payment fee.

What Are Other Places You Can Consider For Payment of Verizon Bill

Certain third-party retail stores also allow you to pay Verizon bills at their locations. However, remember that they mostly charge an extra fee for the service.

1. CVS

CVS lets you pay the Verizon bill in-store but considering that it charges a $4 fee for the transactions does not make it an ideal location to spend your Verizon monthly bills.

2. Walmart

Verizon bill payment at Walmart works the same way as paying the bill at any of the Verizon store locations. You must provide your billing statement, account number, or phone number to process the transaction.

Walmart will then complete the transfer through MoneyGram, Western Union, or CheckFreePay.

Many customers shopping at Walmart find paying off the Verizon bill while at the retail store convenient. However, it has $4; therefore, I would suggest looking into fee-free options instead.

Payment Methods To Clear Your Verizon Bill In Person

There are various payment methods that you can use to pay the bill in person. Check out some of these below and choose the best one of them.

1. Phone

You can use your phone in two ways to pay the Verizon bill.

  • Call the Verizon customer support team and pay the bill through them. This method will cost you $10.

2. Cash

Almost all the retail store locations and the Fios Local Presence Center let you pay in cash. Moreover, specific billing points only accept cash. For example, retail stores like CVS or Walgreens.

3. PayPal

PayPal has not yet been added to Verizon’s list of acceptable payment methods. It only included direct payments through PayPal accounts, so, as an alternative to this, you can make use of a PayPal debit or credit card to clear the bills.

4. Online

I figured out there were two ways to pay my Verizon bill online. I could download the Verizon or FIOS app or use the PayMyBill portal. So this is how it is done.

  • Download the app on your smartphone.
  • Log in to your account.
  • Begin the billing process.
  • Submit the required payment details.

PayMyBill does not require you to create an account. However, you must provide the account number and ZIP code to complete the payment procedure.

In case of any issues, there is a digital assistant to help you to complete your payment procedure out.

Mailing in your payment is another option you can consider. However, it can take time compared to paying in-store cash or transferring the bill online.

  • Visit the Verizon official website.
  • Then open the Contact Us section.
  • Click on the Payment Mailing Address for your location and copy it.
  • Prepare the mail and send it to the specific location.
  • Send the payment as a money order or other method that acceptable to Verizon.

7. Others

Verizon accepts various payment methods, whether you are paying online or in-store. Other than cash, an option for in-store payments only, here are the alternatives you can use to pay on the website, app, or Verizon store.

  • Checking account.
  • Visa.
  • Discover.
  • Mastercard.
  • STAR.
  • PULSE.
  • NYCE.
  • American Express.

Non-Verizon stores, unfortunately, do not support these payment methods. As a result, you can only pay with cash here or through a debit or credit card.

In a Nutshell

You can pay the Verizon bill in multiple locations, but Verizon retail stores and FIOS Local Presence Center are the best as they are free of extra fees. If you don’t have any of these in your area, it is best to visit a local CVS, Walmart, or Kroger store to pay via Western Union, but you will be charged $4.
