Using the Official Xfinity Speed Test
Most people don’t know, but Comcast actually lets you test your internet speed on their official Xfinity website. The best part is that you don’t actually need to be using Xfinity’s internet to use this service and it’s totally free.
To do so, you’re going to have to open up your browser and go to ‘speedtest.xfinity.com’ or just type something along the lines of “how do I check my Comcast internet speed” and you should be able to see the website.
Once you’re there just click on ‘Start Test’ and you’ll be able to see your download speed. There’s also a ‘Show More’ option on the bottom right corner for more information.

Alternative options to check xfinity internet speed.
If for whatever reason Xfinity’s site doesn’t work for you, you can try using this method instead;
- The first thing you should do is head to ‘speedtest.net’ and try testing your speeds there.
- Aside from the download speed, they also show the upload speed, PING, your Gateway IP address, whether you’re under single or multi connections, and where your brain telecom is. So yeah, this place is pretty good.
- You might want to consider getting the app too. Look for Ookla Speedtest in your app store. There’s also Speedtest Master for those of you who have iPhones.
- There are plenty of other options to choose from if you just search for it, but we found these to be the best.
- Remember, these results are approximate measures. Your experience may differ due to a variety of reasons. If you are having trouble with your connection speeds, contact your nearest Comcast Xfinity service provider and have them diagnose your issue.
